County-level California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) reports are now available through 2017. CHKS Reports include data on school climate and student wellbeing, including youth tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use. They can be useful for local and countywide prevention planning.
Substance abuse-specific indicators include:
- Lifetime use, past 30 days use, and frequency of use
- Perceived harm and availability
- Use on school property
- Cessation attempts
- Use while driving
The reports are prepared by WestEd under contract with the California Department of Education.
